Aloha! Guess what?!
I was back on the RADIO! Yay! For those of you just tuning in, haha, I was on the radio over the summertime. For about 3 months, I had a show called “Inspired Vibrations”, hosted by Tantra on Q103, Maui’s Roots, Rock & Reggae station. It was an hour long show where we took live callers, I gave mini-readings, and I would talk inspiring stories over the air. It was a lot of fun and a great platform for getting my name out there in the community and all over the world!
The radio show was such a great success, locals and tourists alike wanted to know where they could visit me for a reading. And, at that time I didn’t have a space to hold readings, so I took a break from radio to find a space and open an office.
Luckily, as I was about to open my office, I was approached by Omar, from the OmZone on 94.3 KDLX FM, Maui’s Old School R&B station, to come back on the radio. Omar asked if I would like to continue to speak positivity and offer guidance to our world community in 2-minute segments of inspiration. I said, “Heck, yes! Absolutely!” and thus in the beginning of February, I was back on the radio!
From February 4th – March 20th, I was on each week, Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, at 10a & 3p HST, for “Soul Treats”.
What are Soul Treats you ask? A Soul Treat is a bit of yumminess from my soul to yours. And how I came up with the name Soul Treat is a sweet story too!
Originally, these 2-minute segments were called 2-minutes of inspiration, and that was alright, but when I Googled “2 minutes of Inspiration”, I got some links that were more in alignment with Bible verses. While I love Jesus (I do!), it is my intention that what I share is non-denominational, not religious and I want to provide something that can be understood universally.
My Spiritual Teacher suggested I use the word Soul and I liked that. I also wanted something that was catchy and easy to remember and say. I had a few different names that I liked and one of them was Soul Snacks. I Googled “Soul Snacks” to see if there was a conflict. And that’s something I always do when creating a new business or website; I check to see if there’s something of similar nature already in existence.
So, I DID come across a website called SoulSnacksNYC.com. I was curious what it was so when I went to the site, I found out it was a cookie company. YUM! Yes! I continued to read on about the history and discovered Ralph Rolle, who has been a drummer in the music industry for many years. In fact, he’s on tour right now with Nile Rodgers & Chic! So cool! And, while he’s a fantastic drummer, he also provides sweets for the soul. He started his Soul Snacks Cookie company back in 1996 using his grandmother’s recipe and has built quite a yummy success story.
My mind was brewing and I thought I could still possibly use “Soul Snacks” as the name of my segment, but I wanted to make sure it was okay with his grandmother, Leola “Grampy” Williams. I could feel the heart and soul of this company and even though I wasn’t providing a food-based item, it was important to me that I asked for permission. Since his grandmother has passed, and I am a Medium, I requested to speak with her and ask if it was okay to use the same name for my segment. Without any hesitation, she said “no!” Lol! Even when I explained I was providing something different, she still said no. She is very protective of her grandson, and I can totally relate and understand her feelings. So, I respected her response and thanked her for communicating with me.
I came up with a few other names, searched the web for conflicts, wrote 3 names on a piece of paper and used my pendulum for clarity. (FYI, Pendulums are great for helping with decisions, and intuitive guidance. You can read a great article about Pendulums here.)
“Soul Treats” was the winner. And I do feel I am providing a soul treat; 2-minute goodies for your soul and they’re fat-free! ;)
Getting back to Soul Snacks Cookie Company, if you’re in NYC, or Japan, make sure you check them out. And if you’re not, order them online here. I’m about to order another box. My favorites so far are Down Home Double Chocolate Chip & French Cocoa Chocolate Chip.
Sorry for the picture being blurry, but I was so eager to try these cookies, that I was in a hurry! ;) All the cookies came individually wrapped and sealed for freshness. Just in case you love cookies just as much as I do, and your mouth is already watering, here are a few names of the other cookies Soul Snacks provides: Sweet Potato Cookie, Ebony & Ivory Almond, Miami Raisin Walnut, Grampy’s Chocolate Peanut Butter & they also have Gluten & Sugar-Free cookies! I highly recommend you check them out!
I was so excited about these cookies and how I came upon them that I talked about them in this Soul Treat! If you missed the airing, you can listen to ALL the Soul Treats at Spreaker.com. (If you go there directly, make sure you type “Lisa Eve” into the search box to find Soul Treats!)
I’ve uploaded 23 so far, with all different topics, and since they’re only 2-minutes long each, they’re quick and easy!
Being back on radio was another dream come true! It was a blessing to be given this 2nd opportunity and I hope my Soul Treats provide something of value to you!
With this new adventure, be on the lookout for www.SoulTreatsRadio.com coming soon to a screen near you! ;)
‘Til next time, thanks for reading and Happy Dreaming! :)
